What Will You Be Doing

As a Staff Engineer within the Platform Operations space, you will leverage your knowledge of ITIL and software engineering principles together to maintain and uplift solutions that mitigate risk and create efficiency in business operations for Financial Crime Technology.

  • Driving automation through understanding processes and implementing improvements.
  • Measuring systems performance and working iteratively to identify key metrics to guide improvement.
  • Diagnosis of operational incidents, performing root cause analysis, and working to make engineering change to resolve problems.
  • Collaborating with others including Software Engineers, Application Developers, Network Technicians, Delivery Managers, and Program Officers. Engineering is a team sport; we achieve outcomes by working together.
  • Presenting your work to peers in your immediate team and to engineers, and managers across the broader Software Engineering community.
  • Drive platform delivery planning and risk assessment with expert advice.
  • Drive a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning and lead engineering practice development.

We are interested in people who have:

  • A passion for automation and CI/CD using tools like Git and Ansible and with logging and monitoring tools like Splunk and AppDynamics
  • Experience installing, configuring and maintaining complex 3rd party vendor software at enterprise scale
  • Great at coding skills in one or more of Shell, Python, Java or similar.
  • Sound working knowledge of Linux systems
  • Sound understanding of cloud native (AWS/Azure) application principles and the whys behind them.
  • Great verbal and written skills to communicate your designs and strategy to peers and management.
